Create the perfect ambience
Your movie starts and the lights go down. An airborne shark takes a bite out of an unsuspecting victim and the room floods with red light. With the Philips Hue lightstrip plus, not only can you add accents, and use colours and tones to set a mood or match your décor, you can sync your lights to your music and even movies. With 16 million colours, variable brightness, and up to 120 lumen output, you can create everything from subtle to striking effects by painting your room with light.
Control from your smartphone
Use the Philips Hue app for your iOS or Android device to tune, dim, and precisely control the colour of your lights from anywhere. You can set timers, notifications, alarms, and set up geofencing so your lights turn on when you come home, or off when you leave, automatically. That’s not just smart, it’s downright polite — not to mention efficient.
Flexible, expandable, and easy to install
Starting with the Philips Hue lightstrip plus base strip, you can expand up to 10 metres by adding 1 metre (40-inch) extension strips (sold separately). These flexible strips adhere to any solid surface, and can easily be bent into various shapes and cut to various sizes to create truly custom lighting designs. You can also easily place them out of sight to generate more subtle lighting.
Works with your Hue bridge
Using WiFi and ZigBee wireless connectivity, Hue lightstrips are controlled by your smartphone via the Hue bridge (sold separately, available in Hue smart LED starter kits). This connectivity also allows for integration into your smart home ecosystem. Hue lightstrips are HomeKit enabled and work with Nest. You can even create IFTTT (If This Then That) recipes via the cloud-based service to program cause and effect lighting. Philips Hue also works with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.
Enhanced home security and convenience
You can turn your lights on even when you’re not home, so it appears as if you are. You can have your lightstrips flash red when your Nest Protect smoke/CO alarm (sold separately) detects danger. You can program them to change colour when motion is detected, when the weather changes, or when a friend tags you via social media.
